What is a Community Builder?
A Community Builder is an ambassador for their local Couchers.org community. They serve as a role model within the
Couchers.org community; they help, organize, and grow their community; and they work with others to promote and improve
the Couchers.org platform.
Community Builders not only engage with the local community, but also communicate and work together with other Community
Builders and volunteers. This way the community and organisation can work together to uphold our values and achieve our
goals, and the platform can grow and improve based upon community feedback.
There are many ways that Community Builders help out within their community:
- Answer questions that people may have about the local community, couch surfing, or Couchers.org
- Organise, host, and encourage local couchers events
- Uphold our Community Guidelines and encourage others to do so too
- Moderate their local community by reporting anything that violates the Community Guidelines
- Send welcome messages to new members of the community
- Ensure that the photo and descriptions of their local community page on Couchers.org are accurate, complete, and
up-to-date
- Participate in meta-discussions about Couchers and the concept of couch surfing
- Help recruit new Community Builders and volunteers
Community Builders have various levels of involvement and activity, depending on how much free time they have. Would you
